On April 21, the North Oakland Concert Band, represented by Conductor Annette Kline and President Mark Buchanan, presented a $440 check to Orion Township Supervisor Gerald Dywasuk.
The check was a contribution toward the construction of the planned amphitheater in Orion Township.
The gift came from audience donations raised at a recent concert held specifically to benefit the project.
In addition to the recent donation from the North Oakland Concert Band, the township has received several donations from individuals and corporations in support of the project.?
The band’s next public concert will take place at Civic Center Park on Tuesday, June 17, at 7:30 p.m.’The group has traditionally performed the opening concert for the Orion Township series of summer concerts in the park.?
The NOCB performs several concerts every season, each concert featuring a wide variety of music, classical to pops.
The group’is financially self-supporting, relying primarily on member dues and donations from its patrons to cover the costs associated with running the organization.?
