Over 250 runners of all ages began 2010 on the right foot at the Downtown Development Authority’s 10th Annual New Year’s Resolution Run.
Some participants stated that the hardest part of the run is that it takes place the morning of New Year’s Day.
‘Luckily the date of the run is factored in and the 5k started at 10 a.m.,? said Denise Demak, DDA event coordinator.
Some male runners dressed up for the run in bridesmaid’s gowns, others wore wild hats, and some runners brought their dogs along for the fun.
The weather was perfect for the race, after taking into consideration the fact that it is Michigan, said Demak, adding that there was no precipitation or wind.
‘The Lake Orion Police Department and Department of Public Works did a fabulous job making sure the streets were well plowed and salted for the runners,? Demak noted. ‘Many thanks to all our sponsors and volunteers who make this run possible.?
