Dear Editor,
On behalf of the Old News Boys, thanks to all who donated so generously this past December. Because you took the time to stop we collected approximately $2,230. That provided gifts from Santa for about 111 children in Genesee County. And that was just from one street corner!
Without the volunteers who braved the bitter cold that day none of this would have taken place. They are: Mark Trowbridge, Gloria Carpenter, Dave Swanson, Larry Shuster, Julie Ryden, Dave Hoffman and Larry Flood. You are all so awesome for coming back every year.
A big thanks to Lucy Grogan for folding all of the newspapers. That is a big job and makes our job much easier. Thanks a bunch, Lucy!
The Marathon and BP service stations kept us warm with free coffee and provided bathroom facilities. Again we trashed your floors with snow and slush. Thank you.
The snow plows and salt spreaders were so great in keeping the intersection of M-15 and Hegel Road safe for all of us. It’s nice to know they are aware of what we are doing.
Last but not least, thanks to John’s Steakhouse for providing us with free pizza when we were done for the day. Greatly appreciated.
