Orion-Troy Ophthalmology

Whether your eye care needs are just glasses or contacts, more complicated needs such as glaucoma or diabetic eye care, you’ll be well taken care of at Orion-Troy Ophthalmology Associates, P.C.
Dr. Gregory Fitzgerald, M.D. and Dr. Charles G. Colombo, M.D., F.R.C.S. (C) have been operating their practice at 1251 S. Lapeer Road for nearly two years, and have a primary office in the Beaumont Medical Office Building in Troy. Orion-Troy Ophthalmology provides ophthalmologic services, including eye exams, treatment for eye diseases and surgery.
Dr. Fitzgerald earned his undergraduate degree at Michigan State University, and attended medical school at Wayne State University. He completed his residency at Royal Oak Beaumont, with which he and Dr. Colombo are both affiliated. Dr. Fitzgerald is also on staff at St. Joseph’s in Pontiac.
“Dr. Colombo and I alternate back and forth between the two offices,” he says. “We provide quality care for our patients. Being an ophthalmologist, I’m a medical doctor, so I’m better versed with diseases and how the eyes relate to other systemic diseases, like diabetes.”
Dr. Fitzgerald says that an ophthalmologist is able to provide a higher quality examination and will work with the patient’s other physicians.
“We deal with conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic eye care and we do lasik (laser eye surgery),” he says. “We also make glasses and dispense contacts.”
