Oxford kicks it up a notch against Davison

The Oxford Varsity Soccer team certainly has no regrets about its first game of the 2003 season, handing the Davison Cardinals a hard defeat by a blowout score of 11-2 on Tuesday. The Wildcats tied Davison last year by 2-2.
The Cats had major contributions from several players including Ben Kester, who scored 3 goals, Keane Kalso and Andy Forte, who had 2 goals each, and seniors Eddie Summers and Scott Salgat each scored once to power the Wildcats to their first victory of the season.
Goaltender Alan Adorjan held up very well for the cats, helping them along by only allowing the Cardinals 2 goals during the contest.
On a lesser note, former 3rd team All-State senior Jim Henry collided with a Davison player while slide tackling and was sidelined for the remainder of the game. It is predicted that he suffered a strained MCL and could be out for a few weeks, but the Wildcats are still hoping for the best.
The Wildcats have their first home game on Tuesday, September 2 against the Holly Bronchos. Oxford beat the Bronchos last season by a score of 2-1, and after showing what they can do against Davison, the Wildcats are pumped up and ready to do it again.
