Oxford Overhead Door Company satisfies its customers with quality repair and replacement of garage doors and parts.
One might think that replacing garage doors is a fairly safe task, but the fact is some problems, such as a broken torsion spring can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing.
The importance of having an established and accredited door company repair and replace your garage doors cannot be stressed enough, said Barb vonKnipper, general manager of Oxford Overhead Door.
‘I have had a good number of customers call and tell us the problems which they had with other companies, like installing the wrong size springs for the door or improper installation of the doors.? said vonKnipper.
Oxford Overhead Door has a great reputation with customers. Here is an excerpt from a customers’s survey:
‘Both times that an Oxford Door repairman has come to my home, I’ve been very impressed with their kindness and friendliness, not to mention their competent work performance!?
In every category on the survey this customer, rated Oxford Overhead Door number one, which means ‘completely satisfied.?
‘We have the experience, the reputation, the longetivity with more than 35 years in business and actual people in the office to help with your problems. If our name is on the product, it has to be reliable,? vonKnipper said.
Oxford Overhead Door has a staff with a cumulative total of experience of more than 80 years. The company mostly services residential customers in Oakland and Lapeer counties and has commercial business in several more counties, including Wayne, Macomb and Genesee.
VonKnipper said the business has a great group of hardworking, loyal employees including Mike Hauxwell, Rob Barrett, Dave Jones, John Riley, Tim Beeman, Terry Kage, Brandie Barrett, Richard Riegler, Job Catinella and Michaelle Kellermeyer.

Because Oxford Overhead Door is truly concerned and dedicated to quality customer service, vonKnipper offered some free tips about garage doors.
If the door goes up three to six inches and stops, look above to see if there is a broken spring. ‘If the torsion spring is broken, you need to call someone,? vonKnipper said. ‘They can be, dangerous to replace without the proper tools. The springs have a lot of torque and can injure someone.?
She said home owners can leave the door connected to the opener and lift the door on the side which has the broken spring.. Then close the door and don’t use it until the spring is fixed.
If the door is crooked, do not cut the cable, she said. Cutting the cable results in more work for the company and more cost to the customer.
Another common problem can be doors with electronic eyes. ‘If you can’t close the door with the transmitter, the eyes may be dirty or misaligned.?
VonKnipper said we advise customers to look for obstructions that could be preventing the door from closing.
‘Other companies don’t want us to give away information like this because they can charge $60 for a five minute service call,? VonKnipper said. ‘We aren’t out to make a fast buck, just to treat customers with respect and save them money.?
In addition to top-notch service, Oxford Overhead Door also supplies parts for your garage door or opener. The company sells parts for all types of openers and carries an extensive line of garage doors.
‘We sell and install Clopay doors and Liftmaster openers and repair everything else,? said vonKnipper. She said the company also sells copper doors and a variety of ‘carriage-style? wood doors.
