Monday, Feb. 16 — A local store manager provided police with a printout showing an employee had twice embezzled prepaid phone cards.
The first, on Feb. 8, showed the $30 card had been scanned and activated and the transaction then voided.
The second, on Feb. 16, showed a cash shortage of $31.80 (the total price of the card) from the employee’s till.
Saturday, March 7 — Someone used a 39-year-old Oxford woman’s credit card to purchase a $29.95 item. She reported the incident to the police in case she needs to file an identity theft report.
Tuesday, March 17 — A woman at a Park Street residence reported being assaulted by her boyfriend.
Tuesday, March 17 — A 38-year-old woman on Brentwood found a bicycle that had been stolen from a young girl. The girl had apparently left the bike somewhere without locking it.
Wednesday, March 18 — Authorities say an 18-year-old Orion Township man tried to leave a North Lapeer Road store without paying for $109.98 in an MP3 player and a steering wheel cover.
They charged him with a misdemeanor of third-degree retail fraud.
Wednesday, March 18 — On Hilberg Street, a 36-year-old Oxford Township man reported his 36-year-old ex-girlfriend had violated a personal protection order by calling him. He told police the PPO was served to her when she’d reportedly stabbed him in the back–literally. Police found her number on his cell phone.
She denied calling him and told police she wasn’t even aware of a PPO against her.
Thursday, March 19 — Residents on Lakes Edge Drive reported a suspicious-looking man watching kids at a playground at Lakeville Elementary School. Police went and talked to him.
Friday, March 20 — Police investigated a possible driving under the influence at North Lapeer Road. The suspect reportedly was driving southbound in the northbound lanes.
Friday, March 20 — On Wynwood, a 58-year-old Oxford woman reported her jewelry box and safe box missing. She suspects the girlfriend of a relative.
One person told police they’d seen a car with three men inside driving around on the street.
Friday, March 20 — A 57-year-old woman reported receiving a harassing phone call. She didn’t recognize the man’s voice, and she doesn’t have caller I.D.
Friday, March 20 — A man on Dayton Street reported his car tires slashed. He said it’s possible the malicious destruction of property was done by his ex-girlfriend.
Saturday, March 21 — A 29-year-old Oxford Township woman on Keith Street reported being assaulted by her 39-year-old soon-to-be-ex-husband during a dispute. She told police he has a history of domestic violence against her. Police were unable to find him.
Saturday, March 21 — At a residence on Hosner Drive, a 22-year-old Oxford Township woman reported being assaulted by her 25-year-old live-in boyfriend, who then took her cell phone when she tried to make a call.
Police arrested him for domestic violence and interfering with a communications device.
Saturday, March 21 — A local woman called police, claiming she was being stalked.
Sunday, March 22 — Police received word of a domestic dispute between a 38-year-old Oxford Township woman and her soon-to-be-ex-husband.
She told authorities she still lives with him since she has no place else to go. She also described him as ‘mentally abusive.?
Sunday, March 22 — Police responded to a complaint of cars and/or motorcycles racing near Thornehill Trail.
Monday, March 23 — An attempted shoplifting turned ugly as authorities at a North Lapeer store apprehended a 19-year-old Allenton woman who reportedly tried to leave the store without paying for $24.32 in hair products.
The woman then, according to police, assaulted a store employee. They charged her with third-degree retail fraud along with assault and battery.
Monday, March 23 — Someone stole a child’s bike from an area school. When confronted, the suspect dropped the bike and ran.
Monday, March 23 — Someone stole cash, credit cards and a laptop computer from a Lakes Edge Drive residence.
