Oxford has long been a community that appreciates the finer things in life such as culture, the arts and a first-rate educational system. In fact, recent studies suggest that music education contributes to academic success in school-aged children.
At long last, a music school has now opened in this vibrant community, offering residents ample opportunity to fulfill their musical ambitions. The Oxford School of Music, located at 117 South Washington St., has recently opened its doors.
Housed in the upper level of an historic Oxford building just south of the village center, the studio offers an impressive array of music lessons including guitar, piano, voice, violin, drums, flute and other instruments.
In addition, the Oxford School of Music is offering an exciting ‘Rock Band? program for teens and adults alike.
This creative experience provides enthusiastic musicians opportunity to play in a real rock band. Each group is expertly guided by music producers who facilitate the band’s development. The innovative experience finally culminates in a concert performance for each band and also a ‘Demo? CD recording.
The ‘Rock Band? program begins in January and would make a unique Christmas gift for a musician.
Rick Samano, owner of Oxford School of Music, has an impressive track record running a music lesson studio.
He successfully ran ‘Lapeer Music? in downtown Lapeer for 14 years, providing the community with a rich offering of lessons, retail sales and expert stringed instrument repair. Samano decided to open a lesson studio in Oxford because he firmly believes that residents were lacking nearby music lessons.
Further, Mr. Samano emphasizes that ‘Local residents need an experienced, professional lesson studio which complements the Oxford School System’s strong emphasis on music education.?
Parents now need look no further than their own community; the Oxford School of Music has opened its helpful doors!
