Whether it’s pasta for the whole family or a night of drinks and good music with friends, Lombardo’s Bar & Grill is ready to become everyone’s favorite neighborhood hangout.
‘We want to be their corner restaurant and after 9 o? clock, we want to be their corner bar,? said co-owner and operator Dominic Lombardo.
Located at 1076 S. Lapeer Road (formerly Fatt Daddy’s and Tavern 1076), the new restaurant/bar is expected to open in mid-to-late July. Approval of the establishment’s liquor license is still pending at the county and state levels.
Owned by Lake Orion residents and brothers Dominic and Peter Lombardo, the new Oxford establishment will feature everything from Italian food to traditional bar fare, all for $12.99 and under.
Patrons can satisfy their craving for something from the Italian peninsula with Lombardo’s ‘Build your own pasta.?
A selection of noodles, sauces and toppings (such as chicken, Italian sausage or baked cheese) will allow diners to create their own unique pasta dishes.
Diners looking for something more American can enjoy barbecue ribs or Lombardo’s ‘signature burger.?
Fish and chips, sandwiches, steak, appetizers, pizza and salads will also be available.
During the day, Dominic said the restaurant will cater to local families with reasonable prices, a children’s menu and possibly some video games.
But after 9 p.m., Lombardo’s Bar and Grill will focus on their adult clientele with a quality bar, live music and even a karaoke night. A projection television system will make it the place to be for sporting events.
Dominic is so dedicated to making Lombardo’s a neighborhood spot where hometown folks come to meet and eat that he’s trying to hire as many local people as he can to be wait staff, bartenders and kitchen staff.
‘We want them to bring their families and friends here, give it a real local feel,? Dominic said.
