Independence Township Board voted in Barbara Pallotta as the new clerk.
The vote was 4-2, with Supervisor Dave Wagner, and trustees Neil Wallace, Dave Lohmeier, and Larry Rosso voting yes. Treasurer Curt Carson and Trustee Mark Petterson voted “no.”
Wagner was the deciding vote, changing it from Joan McCrary.
Pallotta was sworn in that night, Feb. 22, and reported for duty Wednesday morning.
