From one giant dragon that literally breathed fire all the way down Broadway, to a group of more than 100 Dragons who blazed a trail all the way to Ford Field and came home with a football state championship, to the naming of Kathy McMinn as Citizen of Year, this year’s Holiday Lighted Parade was rife with Lake Orion spirit and hometown pride.
Some 70 entries illuminated the parade route through downtown Lake Orion last Saturday. Winners of this year’s float contest include:
‘Best Commercial Business: Upland Hills Farms
‘Best Non Profit Organization: 1000 Conversations about Mental Health in Lake Orion
‘Best Theme Depiction: Golling Buick GMC
‘Most Uniquely Illuminated: Finch’s Custom Cycles
