Pedestrian struck by vehicle

A 26-year-old woman was lying on a grassy median within the parking lot of the DTE Energy Music Theatre when she was hit by a man driving a Ford Escort after a concert Wednesday, June 25.
The 27-year-old driver, of Windsor, decided to bypass congested traffic, to get an ill passenger out of the parking lot quicker, and drove up onto the median. He told police he did not see the woman, low in the grass, until the last minute when he slammed on his brakes.
The man was intoxicated and registered a preliminary breath test of .12 percent. He was arrested and issued a misdemeanor appearance ticket.
The woman, of Detroit, was taken to Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital for evaluation of injuries. She had numerous cuts to her face and head. She had been drinking as well.
