Fourth- and fifth-grade students at Leonard Elementary took time out of their busy day on Friday, April 23 to watch the Village of Leonard plant a tree in honor of Earth Day.
The weather was perfect, sunny and hardly a cloud in the sky as the Village planted a white oak tree at the Polly Ann Trailhead in downtown Leonard as village President Mike McDonald spoke about the significance of Earth Day and planting trees.
Once they were finished, some students were chosen to water some plum trees that were previously planted.
