An Addison Township resident awoke early Sunday morning, not to the sound of her alarm clock or singing birds, but to the loud crash of a vehicle hitting her house.
At approximately 4:14 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 23, Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies from the Addison Township substation responded to the scene of a personal injury crash in the 1900 block of Rochester Rd.
The complainant said the vehicle crashed through her detached two-car garage and into her house. The driver of the vehicle, a white male who went by the name of ‘Monkey,? according to the female passenger, fled the scene on foot heading north.
The female passenger stayed on scene and was transported to the hospital for minor injuries.
Deputies observed the male run toward the area of Rochester Rd. and Labbe Lane, near the Lakeville Lake. A perimeter was set up and the K-9 unit was dispatched to track the suspect. The unit was not able to locate the suspect. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
