Residents can choose own company for road chloride

Residents in Orion Township can choose which company they would prefer to chloride their roads, and the Orion Township Board of Trustees has agreed to subsidize the program at 16 cents per lineal foot.
For 2003, Oakland County submitted a cost of 33 cents per lineal foot. A private company will be charging 29 cents per lineal foot for road maintenance. Both will provide four applications per season.
Money for the township’s portion was budgeted for in 2003. Residents will pay the difference.
