Dear Editor,
The annual spring Teens & Seniors Rocking & Raking yard cleanup project will take place on Saturday, April 30. Any senior citizen or disabled adult can request yard cleanup, windows washed and/or minor chores by notifying the Edna Burton Senior Center of the work you are requesting.
This program provides our young people the satisfaction they can only get by serving others.
They work really hard and at the end of the day they feel good about themselves and enjoy meeting and helping our seniors. They return year after year to participate.
Teens & Seniors Rocking & Raking is funded entirely by sponsor fees and donations which pay for the T-Shirts and supplies. The luncheon food is all donated from people in the community. There is absolutely no cost to the homeowner.
Please contact the clerk’s office to donate badly needed supplies or food and luncheon supplies and food.
Also, please thank those sponsors who provided the funds for T-Shirts last year. The Edna Burton Senior Center’s volunteer Auxiliary Board, Bory Landscaping, Inc, Tool Sport & Sign Co., Seymour Lake United Methodist Church, Frosty Boy of Ortonville and Hillside Bible Church. Chesnutt Outdoor Services, LLC and Bory Landscaping, Inc also donated their company’s time to haul away all the debris.
If you have any questions, please call my office or Annette at the Edna Burton Senior Center.
