Salute to Service: Brandon 62-Clio 18

Brandon Twp.— The Ortonville VFW Post 582 Honor Guard presented the colors for the national anthem at the Sept. 16 Brandon Football game. The annual “Salute to Service — Military, Veterans and 1st Responders tribute” honored Eric Overall, first responders, police officers, firefighters, military and veterans. The Blackhawks improved to 3-1 with a 62-18 win over Clio.
The Blackhawks displayed a balanced offensive attack with 279 yards in the air and 203 on the ground for a total of 482 yards.
BHS Soph. Quarterback Lance Briolat was 12 for 17 attempts for 206 yards and four touchdowns. BHS Jadon Olafsson was 2 for 2 and 53 yards, while BHS Jr. Drew Hickmott was 1 for 1 for 20 yards and 1 touchdown.
Rushing BHS Landin Zull had 8 carries for 52 yards, Sr. Jacob Ryeson had 2 touchdowns, Freshmen Carter Acquilina and Luke Hanson each had 1 touchdown.
Receiving Hickmott 5 completions for 111 yards and 2 touchdowns and Sr. Joey Norris 4 completions for 64 yards and 2 touchdowns.
“Another solid night up front by our boys on the lines,” said Coach Zube. “Also, thank you for the more than $10,000 raised for the Deputy Overall Scholarship Fund. Great night for Brandon and the community.”
On defense, BHS Jr., Jake Difalco, 10 tackles; Jr. Drew Hickmott, 9 tackles; Frosh. Luke Hanson, 6 tackles; Sr. Wes Atkinson 6 tackles; Sr. Brennan Johnson 6 tackles and 1 sack; Jr. Issac Miller, 5 tackles and 1 fumble recovery.
