The Alzheimer’s Association and the Independence Township Senior Center are offering a free program to area residents.
‘Working with your Doctor: When you suspect memory problems in a loved one,? is set for Thursday May 15, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Independence Township Library.
The program allows individuals to learn how to create a partnership with your loved one’s physician.
The workshop will provide care partners with tools and strategies to improve communication with physicians.
Participants in this program will learn:
? The benefits of building a partnership and serving as an advocate for your loved one.
? How to put into action eight strategies to strengthen the partnership between the patient, care partner and doctor.
? How to use three planning forms to be better prepared for doctor visits. Blank forms and a free booklet, ‘Hope & Help for those with memory loss,? are included in the participant packet for your continued use.
