On May 1, the students of Sprinfield Plains Elementary room 403 went to the SCAMP Walk & Roll, along with many other students, teachers, parents and members of the community.
It was so cool to see so many people at our check-in line. Springfield Plains Elementary room 403 had a big group picture taken at the pavilion where all of us students, our friends and family met at 12:30 p.m.
Then we all decided to do the two? mile walk together. After we finished the long, tiring two? mile walk, we had hot dogs and drinks. Next, they announced the winners for cutest dog, best decorated bike, youngest walker, oldest walker and largest group.
Springfield Plains Elementary won for the largest group. The prize was a free cone at Dairy Queen. Yummy!
The goal that we, the students of room 403, set was to get 100 walkers from SPE. It turns out that we got more than 100 students to participate. To get all of these students to the Walk & Roll, we had to really push them.
We had a skit at an assembly and then used the props for a mural in the fourth grade hallway. We made brochures and presented them to all the classrooms and posted all of our posters around the school. We also did the announcements on the SPE News, which is our news program we see on TV on Mondays.
It was a lot of hard work and a lot of fun. We are so happy that we helped promote the Walk & Roll for SCAMP!
