Independence Elementary fourth graders made a birthday extra special for a friend in need.
Students in Mrs. Sorensen and Ms. Warners classes made a poster of special wishes and a Happy Birthday video for Chantel, niece of Denise Koleber of Clarkston, for her 28th birthday, Oct. 10.
Chantel suffered a severe allergic reaction to peanuts while visiting Las Vegas, and was med flighted back to Michigan for treatment at a Rehabilitation Center in Ypsilanti, Denise said.
The students deserve special recognition for their unconditonal act of kindess, she said.
“Chantel has been in a comatose state since Feb. 20,” her aunt said. “They have touched her heart as well as mine and my family’s in showing their love and support for her.”
