Soldiers recovering from wounds sustained in battle along with those still fighting overseas will be receiving holiday greetings from Oxford High art students.
Students in art teacher Becky Ziemianski’s three Drawing I classes made holiday cards for the troops.
‘Each one has an original piece of artwork on the front drawn or painted by a student and a personalized greeting inside,? Ziemianski said.
A total of 120 cards were made.
Half will be mailed to soldiers recovering from wounds at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington D.C. The other half will be sent to troops spending their holiday season serving overseas.
Ziemianski said the purpose of the project was to remind students of all those men and women who won’t be able to spend the holidays with their families and the sacrifices they’ve made to serve their country.
