Beginning with the class of 2005, all qualified Lake Orion students will have to take the MEAP High School Test as a graduation requirement.
According to Lake Orion Assistant Superintendent Dave Beiter, this will help the high school and the district meet its participation rate of 95 percent for the “No Child Left Behind” law.
Students in the class of 2005 are presently entering their junior year, at which most time most Michigan students take the MEAP tests.
These students will have the opportunity to take the MEAP tests four times — November and May of this year and November and May of next year.
