Thank you Brandon EMS

Dear Editor:
On the night of Feb. 12 , with the help of my friends Norma Clore, Betty Irwin and Louise King, I had to use Brandon Fire Department emergency service for my sister, Hannah Anderson, who became ill while visiting me from Cleveland.
Having called 10 mnutes ahead to the fire station, and given a brief description of the problem, the team was already there with an ambulance when we arrived. After a preliminary examination, they recognized the gravity of her illness, and went into action immediately. They quickly decided to administer some medication to make her more comfortable and within minutes we were on our way to St. Joseph Hospital. I sat up in front in the ambulance with the EMS driver, Steve. I soon realized that I was in the company of a very well-trained, very competent group of men who knew exactly how to handle an emergency.
Dr. Thewes, who was in charge of ’emergency? at St. Joseph Hospital that evening, advised me that if we had arrived five minutes later, my sister would have been gone.
Therefore, inadequate as it may be, please accept my heartfelt thanks, Chief Kwapis and to those men who saved my sister’s life. She was diagnosed as having ‘pulmonary edema? and is back home in Cleveland doing well.
