Dear Editor:
Thank you to everyone who made CreekFest happen this year! We all had a great time and it didn’t happen without the help of a lot of people in our community. I especially want to thank our corporate sponsors, Clarkston Brandon Community Credit Union, Oxford Bank and Healthcare Reimbursement Solutions; and our event sponsors, Art of Life, Glass with Class, Thompson’s Hardware, David W. Regiani, DDS, PC, Wills Insurance, Scott Plumbing, Trinity Photography, Wojo’s Greenhouse, Cook’s Farm Dairy, and Pet Supplies ‘Plus.?
Our event is also supported by Clinton River Watershed Council, Flint River Watershed Council, Village of Ortonville, Brandon Township, Oakland County Department of Environmental Quality, Oakland County Drain Commission, and the River Day Foundation. These groups provide the resources for environmental quality and education in our community. Through their help and our efforts as a community, Kearsley Creek has had a clean bill of health during CreekFest for three years in a row. The peace of mind clean water brings is priceless. Thank you to all the groups who have helped raise awareness of the positive solutions available to us.
As we all know, nothing in town happens without the help of volunteers. There are many, many to thank! If I have not mentioned your name here, please know I mean you, too! Our new CreekFest coordinator, Liz Waters, did a fantastic job! She worked tirelessly to bring more people into town, offer more performances, groups, and events, and to raise awareness throughout neighboring towns. She is perpetually enthusiastic, smart, and practical. I am delighted she has agreed to help with CreekFest again next year. Debbie Baker, also enthusiastic, continues to run our arts and crafts market (as well as Beets, Beats, & Eats). Her markets get positive responses from market vendors and guests alike. Thank you, Liz and Debbie, for being the rock from which the rest evolves. We can never have enough people like you. Thank you also to Denise VandenBossche for running the kids crafts area, Lois Robbins for running the poetry contest and contacting the environmental agencies for us. Thank you to Alice LaLone, Hannah Matich, Katy Brown, and Andi Trubiano for their help with the Arbor Day Trees. Thank you to Brenda Heffernan, Lena Painter, Chad and Monique Gibbs, Tom and Nadia Roberts, and Becky Langolf for their help during CreekFest. Thank you also to Dara Beaudet, Brenda Timmermans, the Scott Family, and the Waters Family for their help behind the scenes. And finally, thank you to everyone who did their part to make CreekFest a success.
