For the fourth year running, fall brings portraits from all over the state to the Orion Art Center’s Michigan Portrait Show.?
There are 67 portraits on display by 33 artists from all over Michigan.
Addie Langford of the Flint Institute of Arts served as juror and enjoyed the diversity of the show.?
Awards were given at the opening reception, held on Friday ( Sept. 26) to the following artists:? Clay Dodson of Rochester Hills won first place, Brad Lawrence of Clarkston won second, Dalia Rodens of Rochester won third, and honorable mentions were awarded to Janet Sandison of Rochester and Robert Grenkowitz of Washington Twp.?
The exhibit is on display through October 17th at the Orion Art Center and will travel to the Orion Township Municipal Offices for an additional month of exposure.?
‘The portrait show is a diverse compilation of artwork by a variety of talented artists in several mediums.? Anyone who is interested in a commissioned portrait should see this show as it shows many styles and artistic approaches,?’said Reggie Harrison, director of the Orion Art Center.?
