Three LOHS boys busted in burglary

Three Lake Orion High School teens were arrested Monday in connection with burglaries in Orion Township.
The incidents occurred Friday, April 2 at two homes in the 800 block of Pine Tree.
According to Detective Jeff DeVita of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Orion substation, the three suspects said they were looking for money.
The trio allegedly entered a detached building at one residence and made off with $650 in cash.
The homeowner told police he heard water running and dogs barking around 3:30 a.m. and woke later to find portions of his property vandalized and the cash missing.
At the second home, a witnesses reported hearing footsteps and looked outside to see three ‘younger looking? males’one black and two white’walking up and down the street acting suspiciously and looking around for about 30 minutes.
When two of the boys approached a nearby house and one entered through a window, the witness woke his father, who chased the suspects off with a gun and called police after the boys ran around the back of the house and fled over a fence to the neighbors back yard toward Clarkston Road.
The resident, who slept through the incident, told deputies the only thing missing was a dollar bill from her kitchen table.
DeVita didn’t release the boys? names’charges were still pending Tuesday and all three teens are juveniles.
Two of the boys are 16, the other is 15, he said.
Orion deputies picked the boys up after establishing the suspects? identity through witness descriptions.
‘They also hit a couple of cars,? DeVita said, noting he recovered a stolen iPod from one of the boys.
All three were released to their parents pending charges.
