TimPaNo Toys opens township store

Groveland Twp.-Tim Resst will be the first to admit’he’s just a big kid at heart.
‘That’s why a toy store is just the right fit,? said Tim, a Lincoln Park native and Brandon Township resident for the past 12 years.
On Oct. 19 Tim, wife Patti, and son Noah each donated the first few letters in each of their first names and opened TimPaNo Toys, 340 N. Ortonville Road in the Bueche’s Plaza.
‘There’s less video games and more creativity in toys here,? said Tim. ‘I spent about five years of research determining just the right toys to make the store a mix of nostalgia that customers will not find in the big box stores or at the mall.?
For example, Resst stocks the 1950 Hasbro classic Mr. Potato Head.
‘The original used a real potato when creating the head, however, the plastic model is available right here,? he said. ‘Or remember Risk? The 1957 board game is still very popular or even Mouse Trap is still a great family activity that has been around since the early 1960s.?
The shelves at TimPaNo also include the Thomas the Tank Engine train toys and action figures.
‘I realize some action figures are worth more than others based on availability, but I’ll keep the price consistent,? he said. ‘I’m not here to take advantage of anyone.?
TimPaNo Toys also carries the difficult to find OYO sports mini-figures designed to resemble Major League Baseball and National Football League players.
‘We have Detroit Tigers mini-figures,? he said. ‘If we don’t stock the toy we’ll be happy to order it for you.?
Resst served in the Army and Army National Guard for the past 28 years’including a 2005 tour of duty in Iraq.
‘I flew helicopters including the Blackhawk,? he said. ‘I was also in Afghanistan as a contractor for a while. I’m happy to be home and working back here in the town where I live. Stop by and check out our stock of great toys just in time for the holidays. Whether you’re a kid or a kid at heart we have something for just about everyone to have fun.?
