Township employee reports thefts

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Department took a report of threats and harassment at Orion Township Hall on Joslyn Road on Feb. 3.
According to an OCSD report, a township employee has been threatened several times over the past 18 months by a 40-year-old Lapeer Road man. The employee said he didn’t think much of the threats at first, but due to recent threats, had become concerned for his family’s safety.
He said a former township elected official had told him that the man had said to him that he, the township employee, had “better have a good life insurance policy.” In the last month, a neighbor of the Lapeer Road man saw him in his backyard, with a gun and ammunition, saying it was for the township employee.
According to the threatened employee, the man had recently left a note on his vehicle. He was advised by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department on how to obtain a personal protection order.
