Atlas Twp.-At about 11:30 a.m., Sunday, township firefighters responded to a house fire near Kipp at Washburn roads. When firefighters arrived, smoke was coming from the basement windows of the older home.
‘The fire moved up the walls to the roof,? said Capt. Jeff Slagle, township firefighter. ‘Typical of the older homes with balloon construction. We chased the fire around the walls and it jumped around to the roof.?
Fire departments from Brandon, along with Groveland and Davision townships responded to the blaze.
There were no injuries in the blaze and the fire remains under investigation.
Slagle said that due to the number of ‘hot spots,? the fire was not extinguished for about two hours.
