Atlas Twp. – The 2008 master plan update presented by Wade Trim at the township meeting on May 19 was unanimously approved by trustees.
Required to be updated every five years, the cost for the program was originally presented for bid by Wade Trim to be $27,700. However, Wade Trim’s, Senior Vice-President, Nicholas Lomako who presented the master plan proposal, said the bid has been lowered to $21,000. ‘We have been able to lower the cost by transferring some of the preparation to junior professionals and I will be donating some of my own time to prepare this report,? said Lomako.
The scope of services include a socioeconomic profile, existing land use, natural features and housing needs assessments, transportation network analysis, goals, planning and design standards, future land use plan, zoning plan and document preparation.
Atlas Township Supervisor Paul Amman said the update for the townships master plan is basically the foundation for the township’s future.
