Track and field team had a good run

Coach Stan Ford praised his runners for some good performances on Saturday, May 30, at the state championship held at East Kentwood High School.
Senior sprinter Jeff Heath qualified out of the preliminaries of the 200-meter dash to the semifinals.
‘In the semifinals, Heath ran hard all the way down the stretch to out-lean all but one of his competitors,? Ford said.
Heath got second place, qualifying him for the finals, where he earned All-State Honors by finishing eighth.
‘But it was that lean in the semi’s that got him there,? Ford said.
He beat out three other sprinters by .034 one thousandth of a second.
‘Senior Jeremiah Hargett ran his usual gutty race,? Ford said.
Hargett finished in fifth place for All-State honors in the 1600-meters run. Jeremiah’s time of 4:17.44 his fastest time of the season, and third fastest in Lake Orion history, 4:17.44.
