Curt Carson’s Treasurer’s report revealed a much higher interest income on investments than he anticipated.
Munder, the township’s long term investment, had a return of .27 percent. Barclay’s Intermediate Fund, which is the township’s benchmark, had a return of .08 percent.
‘We are three times above our benchmark,? Carson said. ‘I have been working very hard to invest in areas that we can leverage a little bit and get as much income as we can.?
Short term investments went from 0.50 to 4.90 percent.
‘I anticipated we may only be 10 to 20 percent of what we had last year, but so far we are well over 50 percent, so that’s a plus.?
