As part of the restoration for the historic Union Church, the steeple will need to be repaired at a cost of $3,500.
The steeple was not repaired at the time a new roof was put on the church and adjacent senior center, due to the company retained not having the proper equipment to provide steeple repair.
The Orion Township Board approved going with Great Lakes Roofing, the lowest bidder on the project, to complete the repair before winter.
