Patients who want the experience of William Beaumont Hospital’s Urology Department don’t need to make the drive to Troy anymore; they can find the same quality care at Urology Partners, located in the new Beaumont Medical Building on Lapeer Road.
Urology Partners is staffed by four doctors, all M.D.s affiliated with Troy Beaumont Hospital.
Dr. Jay Bhat, Dr. Ashok Reddy, Dr. Jason Wyenberg and Dr. Kirit Vora, who is chairman of the Urology Department at Troy Beaumont, share the practice in Lake Orion.
The doctors rotate days at the Lake Orion office, so one of them is always available, five days a week.
Dr. Vora has been chairman of Urology at Troy Beaumont since the hospital opened in 1978.
He has been practicing urology for 32 years, and was President of Staff at Troy Beaumont for seven years.
Urology Partners offers cancer treatments for the prostrate, kidney, bladder and testicle. Treatment is also offered for benign prostrate enlargement.
Urology Partners also treats female urinary incontinence, urinary infections, kidney stones and sexual problems in men.
Patients won’t have to travel to another facility for laser, microwave or laparoscopic surgery; Urology Partners offers them at the Lake Orion office.
Laparoscopic surgery is offered for kidney stones, and Urology Partners also performs vasectomies.
Dr. Vora encourages patients from other facilities to come in to Urology Partners for a second opinion, and no referral is necessary.
He says men after the age of 50 should visit a Urologist at least once a year to check for prostrate cancer.
If a patient is at high risk for prostrate cancer due to a family member having it, they should start having yearly check-ups at age 40, says Dr. Vora.
“If you have a question in your mind, you can always call us and ask,” he says.
Dr. Vora says patients with urinary symptoms often let the problem go on too long before visiting a Urologist.
“There are early treatments that we offer in the office, as well as medication,” he says. “So come in early.”
Urology Partners accepts most forms of insurance.
The doctors of Urology Partners were interested in a Lake Orion practice because the area is growing, and a group of doctors in the area were interested in a multi-specialty building, such as the Beaumont Medical Building.
The facility opened last July, and is conveniently located on M-24, south of Clarkston Road.
Urology Partners is located at 1455 South Lapeer Road, Suite #122, in the Beaumont Medical Building.
