Dear Editor:
(In response to: ‘Communities vie for their share of economic stimulus package,? The Citizen, Feb. 14, page 1):
The thought of spending $1 million of the stimulus package for a spillway to the village mill pond blows my mind. The pond is ‘private property,? giving access only for those who own it. Are there no other needs in the village, no other worthy citizens? Furthermore, there are no dam builders in the village – all of the work would go to another community, county, state and/or country.
The suggestion for such use of the funds is gruesome.
