Ortonville- The VFW Ladies Auxiliary #582 is seeking members.
The organization has 28 active members and currently meets monthly at 7:30 p.m., the third Tuesday of each month at the Old Town Hall, 480 Mill St.
‘We enjoy our time together,? said Ladies Auxiliary President Margaret Kengerski. ‘We like to be involved in the community.?
To be eligible to join the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, women must be the wife, daughter, sister or granddaughter of a veteran who has a campaign medal, having served at least 30 consecutive days or 60 non-consecutive days in an overseas conflict.
Ladies Auxiliary members host fundraisers for the relief fund for veterans and also donate to cancer research every year.
‘We’d like to have more fundraisers, but it’s difficult without help,? Kengerski said. ‘Quite a few people are eligible to join, but don’t know it.?
The annual cost for membership in the Ladies Auxiliary is $12.50. For more information, call Margaret Kengerski at 248-627-4302.
