Village reminds residents of proper snow removal

While Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh credits residents and business owners for quickly removing snow from sidewalks, he wants to remind them that when plowing parking lots and driveways, they cannot push snow into the road or block sidewalk access with large snowpiles.
‘You shouldn’t need boots with spikes, poles and a breathing apparatus to get to your destination,? Narsh said.
He also reminds owners that a clear vision of the roadway must be maintained, and recommends that all snowpiles be 15 feet from the roadway to allow for the clear vision.
For those that use a contracted individual to take care of their snow removal, Narsh added that it is their responsibility to make sure that individual abides by these requirements.
