Village website

Ortonville- The village’s new website, www.ortonvillevillage.com, is up and running as of Monday.
‘I’m happy we’re in the 21st century,? laughed Councilmember Melanie Nivelt. ‘It’s a good tool and will be very useful.?
Nivelt began compiling photos and information for the website when she was elected to the council in September. The village had a website, but it was never completed and hadn’t been worked on since before former Village Manager Paul Zelenak left in the spring of 2005.
The village paid IGD Solutions of Clarkston $500 to finish the website and is currently paying them $55 a month to host and maintain the site. Once the council takes over maintenance, the village will pay only $35 a month for IGD to host the site.
The website offers several pages of information, including ones on the history of the village, community events, ordinances and village council, planning commission and zoning board members.
