DTE Energy reported that electrical service was knocked out for nearly 2,000 customers in the Clarkston and Flemings Lake roads area on Monday.
Spokesperson Scott Simons said the disruption happened because of a downed power line, but he was unsure what caused the line to down.
The outtage came at 12:54 p.m. on a day when high temperatures were expected to be near 100 degrees.
Simons expected the power would be restored by 5:15 p.m.
