3 run unopposed for village council

For the third consecutive year, all the Oxford Village Council seats up for election on Monday, March 10 are uncontested.
Three candidates are seeking three seats with terms of two and three years.
Village President Steve Allen, who was elected to council in March 2000, is running for a three-year seat.
Councilman George Del Vigna, who was appointed in Sept. 2002 to fill in for resigning Councilwoman Lynda Brown, is running for the other three-year seat.
Matt Weber, a village resident since July 2001, is running for a two-year seat, which is the remainder of Brown’s elected term. Weber applied for the appointment to Brown’s seat in September 2002, but lost out to Del Vigna.
There’s only one polling location for the village election ? the Oxford Veterans Memorial Civic Center at 28 N. Washington St.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
