Holly Twp.-On Nov. 4, Madison Heights-based Shannon Precision Fastener broke ground on a new distribution center on Dixie Highway about a mile north of Groveland Township. The new $7.5 million 71,000 square foot, state-of-the-art distribution facility is located near McClelland Road and I-75.
“We are excited to add Holly to our list of communities in which we operate,” said Edward L. Lumm, President/CEO of Shannon Precision Fastener, LLC and Brandon Township resident.
“We expect to employ approximately 50 people at this facility. However, our master plan will allow us to construct three manufacturing locations and an additional distribution facility as needed. Once completed this industrial complex could employ up to 500 people.
“We appreciate the support of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Oakland County Economic Development and Community Affairs group, and the Township of Holly. As we have proven in Madison Heights and Auburn Hills, we are confident that Holly will see that Shannon Precision Fastener is a company that you will be proud to have located in your community.”
The distribution center is the newest in a series of expansions by Shannon Precision Fastener, which manufactures precision engineered fasteners primarily for automotive OEM’s that include powertrain, chassis, and safety critical applications.
The distribution center is the first in a proposed development of multiple industrial manufacturing facilities located at this site which is east of Interstate-75 and west of Dixie Highway between Evans and Belford Road.
