Wilma E. Filhart, 102, of Coleman died Sunday April 10, 2016, at the Isabella County Medical Facility in Mt. Pleasant. She was born October 14, 1913 in Pandora, Ohio, the daughter of the late Joshua & Anna (Zimmerly) Amstutz. She married Clifford L. Filhart in Pontiac, November 3, 1933. He died September 24, 1994.
Wilma was a woman of strong heart and mind and never ending determination and optimism. She often said she viewed the world through rose colored glasses. She delighted those around her with her sense of humor and words of wisdom right up until the time of her death. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, and gardening. Above all, Wilma was devoted to her family. She was a selfless and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt.
Survivors include her sons: Clifford Filhart of Ortonville, Leon R. Filhart of Clear Lake, Edward & Mary Filhart of Shepherd, James Filhart of GA, Don Filhart of OK, Robert Filhart and Carol Zablotny of Coleman, daughter Ann Groeneveld of FL, 29 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Joanne Filhart of Oxford. Wilma was preceded in death by her sons, Damon Jack and Lynn Filhart, great-grandson Zachary Martinez and a daughter-in-law Diane Filhart.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday April 14, 2016 at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc., Coleman, with burial to take place in the Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm and on Thursday from 10 am until the time of services.
