Intoxicated driver reported
At midnight, Nov. 22, Brandon deputies responded to the area of Ortonville Road and Mill Street for a suspected intoxicated driver. A caller advised deputies that a driver was swerving all over the road and unable to maintain speed. A traffic stop was made by a deputy near Rattlee Lake Road. The driver, a 22-year-old male, claimed he had just one beer that night however, he failed a road side Standardized Field Sobriety Testing. The suspect submitted to a Preliminary Breath Test with a .15 Blood Alcohol Content result. A .08 percent blood alcohol level is the legal alcohol limit for drivers who are aged 21 and over. The suspect was jailed for Operating under the influence of alcohol/operating while intoxicated.
Welfare check
At 2:14 p.m., Nov. 19, Brandon deputies responded to for a welfare check regarding a male from a 911 call stating he had his throat cut but did not know his address. The male kept hanging up on the 911 operator during the conversation until a location could be determined. When deputies arrived the suspect was intoxicated and stated he had his throat cut by a female that lives at the address. The deputy reported a small cut under his chin. A female resident at the home reported the man had arrived home from work with the cut. The female also reported the man had been drinking and wanted the two female residents to go get him more beer from the store. The females refused and he became agitated. The male argued with the females and tried to come into her bedroom pushing the door open on her shoulder where she recently had surgery.
