Lady Martians XC 15-2 Regional Champions

Atlas Twp. — Goodrich Cross Country Girls Regional Repeat Times Four
Goodrich Girls Cross Country continued their stellar season with a Region 15-2 championship Oct 25 at Sheperd High School. The win was the fourth consecutive championship at three different locations, Lake Fenton, Hess Hathaway Park, and twice at Shepherd.
“The course was perfect and so was the weather 50 degrees with a sun and cloud mix,” said Head Coach Allen Warden. “Our seven girls were fantastic. Six with season personal bests and three of those with career bests. All seven were in the top 15 in a field of 84 athletes, the gap first to fifth was an excellent 44 seconds and all seven earned individual regional medal and the championship trophy.”
Senior Kamryn Lauinger 18:28 has returned to form finishing third overall and first for GHS with her a season best; Sophomore Alivia Ottinger 18:40 fifth overall and second for GHS. Freshmen Kayla Shellenbarger 18:41 finished sixth overall and third for GHS with a season and personal best; Senior Layla Jordan 18:47 was seventh overall and fourth for GHS with a season best; Senior Avery Byrne 19:12 finished tenth overall and fifth for GHS overall with the best 5K of her High School life; Sophomore Baylor Lauinger 19:13 finished eleventh overall and sixth for GHS with a season best and sophomore Claire Brown finished fifteenth overall and seventh for GHS crossing the finish line with a career Personal Best of 19:20 with an ankle injury.
