Township recognizes Outstanding Citizens

Groveland Twp. — On Nov. 12, during the Groveland Township Board of Trustees meeting Lynne Schank and Barry Bass were recognized for their contributions to the community.
Schank, a long-time area educator for more than 45 years, township planning commission member, education scholarship supporter, who following retirement, continues to tutor area students was awarded the Golden Citizen Award.
“This lady has a pure heart of gold,” said Bob DePalma, township supervisor. “Her kindness, selflessness and compassion are greatly appreciated by the township offices and many of our residents. We thank her for all the good she has brought to our community.”
Bass, a local business owner for many years, has assisted in a variety of projects township wide, including the MABAS storage warehouse, the new MSP detachment/GTFD Station and township industrial park. For his efforts, he was awarded the Outstanding Corporate Citizen Award
“In the past 40 years, this Barry is the best guy I’ve ever dealt with in any corporate environment,” said DePalma. “His loyalty, kindness and work ethic, has been a role model for what a corporate citizen should be. We thank him for always helping to move the Township forward.”
