An application for an outdoor assembly permit has been received by Orion Township trustees, but organizers of the Art, Autos and Architecture event, being held again this summer at the Scripps Mansion on Joslyn Road, will have to comply with the Orion Township Fire Chief before the permit is granted.
Trustees made approval of the permit, and waiver of the $100 application fee based on Guest House’s tax-exempt status, contingent upon their compliance with the review of Chief Jeff Key. He said various tents would need to be inspected to ensure they meet the applicable fire safety requirements and are provided with required exit and emergency lighting.
The event is scheduled for July 24-25, with a pre-event dinner on July 23.
