Even gloomy weather couldn’t stop the Goodrich soccer team from dominating Lake Fenton.
Under the threat of dark skies May 14, the host Martians shut out the Blue Devils 3-0, improving to 7-4-1 overall and 7-2-1 in Genesee Area Conference play.
Hayley Smith, Amanda Bishop, and Meredith Mayberry each scored goals for the Martians, and goalie Brittany Beard backed them up with six saves.
It was more of the same two days earlier, as the Martians traveled to Swan Valley and came away with a 4-0 win. Smith tallied two goals for the Martians, while Bishop and Jill Zirnhelt contributed one goal apiece. Jessica Merchberger earned the win in net for the Martians.
The Martians also had a game scheduled May 17 at Essexville-Garber, but that contest was rained out.
