Man stabs mother with screwdriver

A 23-year-old Casemer Road man was arrested on Sept. 2 by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department on two charges each of felonious assault, domestic violence and attempted murder after he stabbed his mother and roommate with a screwdriver.
According to an OCSD report, the man’s mother, a 56-year-old Kebble Lane woman, was called to the apartment he shared with his roommate, a 20-year-old Casemer man, at the Oak Forest Apartments. The roommate said the suspect had been drinking for a period of time and had stopped five days ago, came home and had not slept that night. The man started acting strange so the roommate called the man’s mother and she came over.
The woman told the OCSD she had found her son lying on the floor, and that he then began acting strange and grabbed a screwdriver from the kitchen table, stabbing her. The tip hit her collarbone, and the suspect then began choking her. The roommate tried to get him away, and was also stabbed in the face.
An OCSD deputy deployed his taser to subdue the suspect when he was taken into custody. He was lodged in Oakland County Jail.
