The Lake Orion varsity girls basketball team struggled for a win as they faced defeats at the hands of Waterford Mott and Southfield on Sept. 28 and Sept. 30. Against Mott, Lake Orion lost 61-43, with Chelsea Richards leading the Dragons with 14 points. Margaret Verespie followed with five. In the contest against Southfield, the Dragons were bested 56-48, with Rachel LaRocca scoring 22 points for Lake Orion. Verespie had eight for the team, who took a 3-6, 0-4 OAA II record up against Avondale on Oct. 5. The team travels to Lahser on Thursday.
