Looking ahead to the OAA League Meet coming up in just a little less than a month, the Lake Orion girls swimming and diving team posted a 13th place finish in the County Meet on Oct. 1-2, after dropping to Rochester on Sept. 28.
Against the Falcons, Lake Orion lost 98-87, as Emily Roesch finished first for the team in the 100 freestyle (56.84). Roesch was also a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay team, along with Natalie Spisak, Hannah Price and Emily Loerch, who finished with a time of 4:03.37. Erin Sutton took first in the 100 backstroke (1:08.00) for the team.
In the Oakland County Meet, hosted by Lake Orion, Birmingham Groves claimed the top spot, finishing with 359.
Rochester Adams, Mercy High School, Bloomfield Hills Lahser, Marian High School, North Farmington, Notre Dame Prep, Troy, Harrison and Cranbrook Kingswood rounded out the top 10.
Lake Orion finished in 13th place (out of 25 teams) with 58. The Dragons were 12th in the 200 medley relay (1:59.61), and Roesch finished 15th in the 200 freestyle (2:02.81).
Perri Mitchell finished sixth for Lake Orion in the 50 freestyle (25.75), while Jenna Dorey was 12th in the diving competition (260.85). Roesch took 12th in the 100 freestyle (56.45), and Lake Orion’s 200 freestyle relay team finished 12th (1:48.03).
Erin Sutton took 13th in the 100 backstroke (1:04.37) for the team. Mitchell was 16th (1:05.28), and Nicki Dolan was 23rd (1:06.85). Lake Orion’s 400 freestyle relay team finished 13th, with a time of 3:55.02.
The Dragons host Troy Athens on Oct. 14.
